Sharing all the same advantages as the Ardennes FR, the Ardennes CL (Classic) is a more suitable for ultimate longevity, larger riders, and/or Cyclocross. With its classic look and ride, the CL is a favorite everyday wheel for the professionals we work with. The Ardennes CL will take everything you throw at it and come back for more.

At the centre is the Sonic FL hubset, which has larger flanges than the HED Sonic for super strength. The bladed spoke count is 24 in the front and 28 out back.

But best of all, the Ardennes CL has the revolutionary HED C2 rim. We developed the C2 after looking at the standard aluminium clinchers that other manufacturers were turning out. With our 20 years of experience designing the best aero wheels in the world, we knew we could do better - but even we didn't know just how much better.

The HED C2 rim is not just lighter and stiffer - it's wider too. The HED C2 rim is designed for a 23mm tyre, the most popular size, but most other manufacturer's rims are 19mm wide, making the sidewalls of a 23mm tyre flop under hard corning because of the lack of stability at the rim. It doesn't make any sense.

The HED C2 rim not only improves cornering performance because of the extra width, but its air volume is effectively increased, meaning it can be run at a lower pressure for better vibration absorption and more speed.

A wider rim is more aerodynamic too. The HED C2 rim sets the tyre sidewall in line with the rim, eliminating the bulge of a 23mm tyre on a 19mm rim.

We've priced the Ardennes CL extremely competitively. All we ask you to do is to give it a hard time and enjoy riding it.
