HED Lollipop bottle mounts

We’ve just solved a problem that has been bugging bike designers for decades – the one where you spent a lot of time and money developing an aerodynamic frame, and then the rider goes and ruins it by bolting a drink bottle to one of the aero tubes.

We’ve seen some outlandish ideas get around this, such as stuffing a bladder inside the head tube, and more recently filling in the front triangle with a weird-shaped bottle that takes considerable skill to take out, drink from and put back the right way round, all while supposedly riding on the limit. Even in last year’s Tour de France one team had gone back to mounting bottles behind the saddle!

So we’ve gone back to basics and come up with a ridiculously simple solution. The HED Lollipop is a small piece of machined lightweight aluminium that allows you to mount a standard bottle facing forwards, between your arms. It’s near your mouth so you can drink from it without waving an arm out in the wind and breaking your aero position. The bottle is exactly where you need it, and there’s no aerodynamic penalty – it may even improve aerodynamics by smoothing out your leading edge.

The HED Lollipop clamps to your steerer tube in place of a 10mm spacer and comes in two versions – fixed or adjustable so you can tweak bottle position. For 1 1/8in steerer tubes only.
