No matter the genre of aerodynamic application the Jet 6 Black will perform, pigeonholing it as one of those “fit and forget” components. Even when stopping power and modulation is required the Jet 6 Black delivers via our stealthy “Turbine” braking surface enabling riders to carve downhill at previously unthought-of velocity.

Quick rolling, super aero, unbelievable braking & stealthy!
The rim is at the heart of this wheel and it features our “hybrid” construction technology. This technology mates our aluminium “Plus” rim with our aero refined UD carbon “skin” to offer unbelievable performance in conjunction with the new breed of wider, quicker, clincher and tubeless tyres.
Our super wide aluminum “Plus” rim is designed to optimise clincher and tubeless tyre use to unprecedented levels. The internal measurement is a huge 21mm and by widening this rim-to-tyre interface the tyre “sits” in a much superior fashion, altering its cross sectional profile and increasing sidewall stability. This alters the tyre-to-road “footprint” making it shorter but wider with resulting lower rolling resistance and increased cornering grip being experienced by the rider. The altered tyre profile then affords more internal volume which promotes advanced levels of comfort via much lower tyre pressures.
This section of the Jet rim also utilises our ”Black Turbine” technology. The rim, all black in appearance and textured, is similar to the one utilised in our Ardennes Black wheelsets. This increases braking performance tremendously, with stopping distances down by 25% in the dry and a whopping 70% in the wet. What’s more, ease of use and cost effectiveness is guaranteed as normal brake pads can be used and are recommended for maximum stopping power.
A UD carbon aero “skin” is then bonded expertly to this aluminium “base” rim. This 60mm, tuned and sculpted carbon profile allows the Jet 6 Black to perform, aerodynamically speaking, better than most of our competitors offerings of 80mm depth and above all the while handling like a much shallower wheel. This carbon profile is manipulated via our “Stablity Control Technology” or SCT for short. This technology ensures that, for any given rim depth, the wheel will exhibit the best possible drag reduction and cross wind stability across a huge range of wind angles.
The rims then spin around our “545” Straight Pull hub set. This hubset features ABEC 5 hi-grade stainless bearings that rotate on oversize 12mm & 15mm axles, front and rear respectively. The use of these oversized axels reduces deflection and peak loads on any one point throughout the bearing race minimizing rolling resistance and increasing longevity. Full, easy serviceability is also catered for within these hubs and can be performed via two simple 5mm allen keys. Shimano/SRAM and Campagnolo compatibility is offered ensuring that any bike set up is catered for before a 5 pawl freehub offers rapid drive engagement and a carbon front hub shell reduces weight and adds an aesthetic touch.
Super efficiency, heavier riders catered for
Stiffness and strength is integrated in to the wheelset with straight pull Sapim CX-Ray spokes, hand laced and trued. The front wheel exhibits eighteen spokes (20 in the Stallion version for riders above 90kg), laced in a radial pattern, affording even more drag reduction to an already slippery configuration while the rear wheel utilises 24 spokes (28 in the Stallion version), built in a 2-cross pattern. This pattern ensures maximum rear wheel stiffness and efficiency even during all out sprints or hard uphill efforts but also helps to normalise spoke tensions whether drive or non-drive.
The full wheelset weight of 1734g is then completed with our own lightweight, titanium quick release skewers, tubeless compatible, airtight rim tape and valve extenders.
