    The HED Jet RC4.6 Black wheelset utilises differing rim depths, making it an ideal choice for slighter, lighter riders during triathlons or undulating road races.

     

    Hybrid rim constructions see carbon sections expertly bonded to aluminium base components. This method allows the deep carbon rim portions to reduce drag without adding too much weight, while the aluminium sections provide strength and dependability, even across rougher road surfaces. A 46mm deep front rim profile ensures stability during crosswinds, and a 60mm deep rear rim affords increased drag reduction at faster speeds.

     

    The rims utilise HED's Turbine technology, resulting in hard black anodised and textured rim brake surfaces that improve braking in the dry by 25% and 70% in the wet compared to full carbon rims. Additionally, the rims sport 21mm wide internal measurements to help tubeless-ready and standard clincher tyres perform more efficiently.

     

    Sonic Pro hubs spin smoothly and are linked to the rims via range-topping Sapim CX-Ray bladed spokes.

    • Attention

      The anodised surface on Black wheels is a formulation that is harder than the cosmetic coating on many anodised aluminium rims.  

      With some forethought and minimal maintenance on the rider’s part it will last a long time so please take note of the following points:

       

      1) Use of clean rubber brake pads will result in the longest life of the black surface. 

       

      2) Embedded rocks and road grit will wear the anodising much faster than rubber brake compound.  Be advised that wet and/or dirty road surfaces will contaminate brake pads.  The road grit in badly contaminated pads will wear the black surface. 

       

      3) If your rides are regularly on wet and/or dirty roads the hard anodised surface on the Black rims will have a shorter life than it would in dry conditions.
