Fat Bikes are one of the most fun ways to ride on two wheels. Consequently we have taken this sector very seriously and have applied our knowledge, garnered over 30+ years to create wheels that will enhance your Fat Bike ride allowing you to explore further and higher in to the wilderness.


The No Big Deal

Everything within the Fat Bike sector is going bigger and fatter. While we love the ride quality of our super wide Big Deal and Big Fat Deal wheels sometimes these aren’t quite the right choice. Sometimes certain bikes don’t have the clearance for 85mm + wheels. Sometimes we need a bike to serve all year round, through winter and summer, through a whole range of conditions and surfaces. So, in answer to this we have created the No Big Deal (N.B.D.). The No Big Deal is a “semi-fat” solution and offers a full carbon rim with a width of 65mm and wheel size of 26”. With a rim weight of just 450g and ribbed rim profile the signature light weight ride remains as does the strength, ease of tyre installation and comfort. The only thing that has changed is the convenience of a narrower profile.


Stronger. Increased comfort. Ease of tyre installation

The No Big Deal rim has a full carbon construction and features an irregular cross sectional shape. This enhances strength and enables the wheels to handle big hits from all angles. This twin channel shape then also serves as the basis for our “Inflatobam” technology as it provides a better pre-inflation seal by trapping each tyre bead against the rim. This in turn dramatically reduces the amount of air it takes to get the tyre beads to “bam” in to place (hence the name “Inflatobam”!). In addition to this rim shape our Inflatobam technology also utilises “Inflatobands”. These bands are fitted to the internal rim section before tyre installation and effectively provide a variable rim-channel diameter. This compensates for any discrepancies in tyre bead diameters by minimising the gap between the tyre beads and the rim channels, which is the main culprit of installation problems due to air leaks. Also note that our rim shape does not require the use of tyre levers and that it is fully compatible with the use of inner tubes.


Once the tyre is seated the unique rim shape then comes in to play again as the angled bead shelf prevents the tyre from collapsing back in to the rim at low pressures. This helps to ensure no tyre burping or slipping. With the ability to run even lower pressures the increased comfort part of our initial design brief is then catered for nicely.


To complete, our Fat Bike rims are hand laced and trued to our own super silky and super strong “Brickhouse” hubs with our own bladed steel spokes and brass nipples.
